We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer with at least 4 years of professional experience to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of complex WordPress websites, including custom theme and plugin development, advanced integrations, and site performance optimization. The ideal candidate is an expert in both front-end and back-end technologies, capable of transforming high-fidelity designs into high-performance, scalable web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Development: Architect and build advanced custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch rather than relying solely on page builders.
- Site Architecture: Design and implement robust website architecture, ensuring scalability and ease of maintenance.
- Front-End Execution: Convert Figma, PSD, or XD mockups into pixel-perfect, responsive, and mobile-friendly web pages using clean, semantic code.
- Back-End Integration: Manage back-end tasks including database design (MySQL), server-side logic (PHP), and integration with third-party RESTful APIs.
- Performance & SEO: Optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and technical SEO compliance (Core Web Vitals).
- Security Management: Implement advanced security protocols, including input sanitization, vulnerability scanning, and regular security audits.
- Maintenance: Troubleshoot complex bugs, manage site migrations, and oversee regular updates of the WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver solutions on time.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable professional experience in WordPress development.
- Core Technologies: Advanced proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/Less), and JavaScript (ES6+ or frameworks like React/Vue.js).
- WordPress Expertise: Deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, including hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, and the Gutenberg block editor.
- Tools: Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git), debugging tools (e.g., Xdebug, Chrome Inspector), and package managers (NPM, Composer).
- Database: Strong knowledge of MySQL and database optimization techniques.
- Design Principles: Solid grasp of UI/UX principles and responsive web design standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- Experience with WooCommerce development and advanced e-commerce integrations.
- Knowledge of Headless WordPress architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and server management (WP-CLI).
- Previous experience mentoring junior developers or leading small dev teams.
